Bio

I'm Chong Teng, aka "TC". Maize, an economically important crop, could greatly benefit from hybrid vigor by hijacking reproductive mechanisms. I have more than ten years of postdoc experience yielding insights to address the molecular mechanisms regulating male fertility in maize anthers in the Meyers Lab, collaborating with Prof. Virginia Walbot at Stanford University and Prof. Bing Yang at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The questions are mainly answered using genome editing, high-throughput sequencing, and automated image analysis tools to identify functional components. Some of my major contributions to this project have been published in high-impact journals, including Nature Communications, The Plant Cell, etc.
